What Is the Best Base for a Shed on Concrete?

A standard concrete mix ratio of 1 part cement to 5 parts ballast (aggregate and sand) is usually perfectly adequate for shed bases but you can add reinforcing fibres if you are housing anything particularly heavy. if you are unsure ask for advice from your ready-mixed concrete supplier.

Does Shed Slab Need Vapor Barrier?

Do you need a vapour barrier under a shed slab? No. You don't “need” a vapour membrane under a shed concrete slab but it is still a good idea to install one. It is still a good idea to have protection against rising damp even though you don't strictly need it.

Does a Shed Concrete Slab Need Rebar?

Rebar is not necessary for every concrete project. The general rule of thumb is that if you are pouring concrete that is more than 5 inches in depth, you are probably going to want to add in some rebar to help reinforce the entire structure.

Can I Use Cinder Blocks for a Shed Foundation?
